We are gathering at an inaugural Workshop and Exhibition to address the challenges and opportunities of Training and Practice of Architecture in Contemporary Times. The context of urban growth and East African common Market protocol offer us a unique opportunity to learn from our experiences and share our expertise in order to improve the Quality and relevance of research and research based education. The intention is to develop a closer working relationship between partner schools of Architecture in East Africa and the construction industry.
A number of invited workshop papers by participants and guests, exhibition by students of Architecture from partner Schools of Architecture, and exhibition and trade materials from industry will form the core of the workshop.
Workshop sub-themes include: Flow of Knowledge between Research Training and Practice, Sustainable Architecture and Development, Effects of Globalization on Training of Architects, Developing Resources for Training of Architects, Training standards in Architecture, Research and Development in Training and Practice of Architecture and contribution of Architecture to Vision 2030.
