The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA), the umbrella body of professional societies in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a suitable person for the position of Accounts Assistant at its secretariat.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors  Degree in Commerce with at least CPA III
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting packages such as Excel Spreadsheets and QuickBooks
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in project accounting will be an added advantage
  • Skills in financial reporting

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance of APSEA and Professional Centre books of accounts, ledgers and preparation of final accounts.
  2. Preparation of monthly Trial Balances and Bank reconciliation.
  3. Preparation of the staff payroll and salary payments.
  4. Rendering monthly  remittances of statutory deductions
  5. Responsible for renewal of staff NHIF cards
  6. Responsible for submission of Income Tax Returns
  7. Preparation and dispatch of all invoices
  8. Preparation of  reports on operating results, rent, cash collections and annual subscriptions
  9. Responsible for proper storage and custody of accountable documents.
  10. Budget preparation
  11. Filing of Annual and change of directorship returns
  12. Preparation of letters to tenants, room booking clients and corporate members, confirming availability of services and requesting payment of accounts
  13. Liaising with Auditors
  14. Insurances renewals
