The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA), the umbrella body of professional societies in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a suitable person for the position of Accounts Assistant at its secretariat.
Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Commerce with at least CPA III
- Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting packages such as Excel Spreadsheets and QuickBooks
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in project accounting will be an added advantage
- Skills in financial reporting
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance of APSEA and Professional Centre books of accounts, ledgers and preparation of final accounts.
- Preparation of monthly Trial Balances and Bank reconciliation.
- Preparation of the staff payroll and salary payments.
- Rendering monthly remittances of statutory deductions
- Responsible for renewal of staff NHIF cards
- Responsible for submission of Income Tax Returns
- Preparation and dispatch of all invoices
- Preparation of reports on operating results, rent, cash collections and annual subscriptions
- Responsible for proper storage and custody of accountable documents.
- Budget preparation
- Filing of Annual and change of directorship returns
- Preparation of letters to tenants, room booking clients and corporate members, confirming availability of services and requesting payment of accounts
- Liaising with Auditors
- Insurances renewals
