The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA), the umbrella body of professional societies in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a suitable person for the position of Project Assistant at its secretariat.
Requirements
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- University degree in Humanities and Social Sciences or related field;
- A minimum of two years of relevant research experience and/or experience in program and project management;
- Fluency in English, including excellent Report Writing skills;
- Work experience in transitional societies and knowledge of political and socio economic developments in Kenya would be an asset;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to operate MS Windows applications as well as web-publishing, database maintenance and blogs will be an added advantage
- Ability to network and build networks with stakeholders
Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the project implementation.
- Ensure the project implementation progress is in line with the activity work plan.
- Implement project activities and report progress to the Project Officer
- Ensure that donor regulations are adhered too and that necessary administrative, financial and implementation controls are observed.
- Participate and contribute to relevant project related network and links.
- Develop project work plans, financial projections and verify all financial reports on the project.
- Manage the flow of technical reports and compilation of the same in the project narratives for internal and donor reporting.
- Represent APSEA in various project forum and networking levels
