The Azalea – Upperhill

It seems like the last of these massive Upper Hill developments is yet to be seen. This area that was not so long ago rezoned from residential into commercial has seen an upsurge in massive structures as corporate move out of the CBD proper.

Another baby coming into this growing family is the Azalea, an exclusive development of luxury apartments that is ‘destined to become the glittering jewel of Nairobi’s Upper Hill area’. Said to be the first of its kind in East Africa, the Azalea, it is said, will set a new standard in serviced accommodation offering inspired design, exceptional finishes and a host of on-site facilities and amenities.

Designed with an approach of offering pen plan spaces and huge verandahs, and full height windows giving maximum views to its occupants, the development offers one, two, three and four bed roomed apartments and a restaurant to be run by the Tamarind group.

In addition to the 76 apartments, 145 covered parking lots will be created at basement and ground levels. A massive five floor atrium has been located at the central core that leads people into the restaurant, health club and spa, an indoor heated pool and some retail outlets. A circular helipad caps one wing of the building.

The key team running this project includes Satech Investments – the developers, Atelier & Associates (SA) and Shamla Fernandes (Kenya) – the architects, Planning Interiors – Interior Designers, Ecoscapes – Landscape consultants and the Tamarind Group who are to operate the development.

Key dates regarding this development are however not out yet and we are not sure when the developer will hit the ground running and when we will have this ‘jewel’ up.

  1. Very impressive..though i dont think its goin to be as astounding as the english point marina development in mombasa.

  2. I am impressed by the kind of growth we are experiencing in Upper hill. However, it is my hope that we have plans underway for improved state of art roads to match the level of development in the area.
