Architect Nathan Kureba has been confirmed as Chief Architect in the State Department of Public Works, a position he has been holding on an acting capacity since the exit of Architect Cosmas Maweu from the ministry.

Architect Kureba, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Registration for Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS), is a long time civil servant having worked in the state department of public works which was formerly an independent ministry. Currently, it falls under the ministry of Roads and Infrastructure having recently been moved from the Ministry of Lands.

As Chief Architect, Nathan Kureba heads the department that is responsible for rendering services that are required to obtain the client’s accommodation requirements, translate these into building designs and then carry out the construction and subsequent maintenance of the buildings by advising on standards of design and construction of government buildings and providing client ministries with estimates of buildings and structural works.
