The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) is set to launch its official website, for the second time, soon. This comes barely months after an architect described it as ‘wanting in both design and content’ and ‘not befitting an association of designers’ during their annual AGM and offered to lead a process that would give the AAK a better website. This was followed by a listing in Architecture Kenya website titled ‘Kenyan Architects with the Worst Websites’ in which the AAK website was listed among those that were poor in design.

Seeming to react to that pressure, the AAK embarked on a redesign of its site through a graphic and web design consultant, Jemedari Media, and details obtained by Architecture Kenya show that the designs are at a final stage and the site maybe launched before the end of August.

The new website is more colouful and has presented a lot of new features to its visitors, including a ‘members only’ area where AAK members would be able to log in and access information and documents that are classified.

The Architecture Kenya team would like to congratulate the association on this move and encourage all other players to take up the challenge of using this technological advance to their advantage.
